Why do I need to connect and verify my student loan accounts?

Modified on Thu, Apr 6, 2023 at 4:04 PM

In order for Candidly to access your loan history and send payments (including your employer’s repayment contributions, if applicable) to your loans, you must first connect and verify your student loan account(s) with Candidly. Failure to complete the full connection and verification process can result in missed payments and prevent your ability to use certain tools and features on the Candidly platform.

Times when you’ll need to connect and verify your loan account(s) to Candidly include:

  • When you activate your Candidly account as a new user
  • If you’ve connected a loan or loans to Caniddly in the past, but you’ve since been assigned to a new loan servicer (which many borrowers have been in the last several years)
  • If you’ve connected a loan or loans to Candidly in the past, but you’ve since consolidated or refinanced your loans
  • If your loans were transferred to Candidly from a different student loan benefit platform (recommended)

There are three ways to complete the connection and verification process:

You can check the connection and verification status of your loan accounts at any time by reviewing your accounts through Roll Up. The icon next to your loan servicer’s logo indicates whether your loan account is verified, unverified, or if the verification is pending or incomplete. If your loan connection needs re-syncing, you’ll see a prompt to do so.

Don’t see your loans in Roll Up? You may not have connected your loans yet, or your loans may have been migrated from a previous student loan benefit platform.
